Wonder if this is the end...

My dd is now 2.2 years and has, for the last couple of days, only fed once. It's now been 24 hours since her last feed and I have offered once (only to be rebuffed in favour of a biscuit). Has anyone else experienced this and it not been the end - how long can I realistically go before there's no milk there if she changes her mind?

If this is it, tbh, I'm not sure how I feel - a bit like I'm finally losing my baby to todlerhood but also really pleased that it's her decision.

Jacanne, I haven't experienced this yet (ds has just turned 2) so I can only imagine how you are feeling. I would think that the milk would still be there for a while. I have heard of people only feeding every few days, so if that's all your dd is demanding atm, I would guess your supply could cope with that. Have you had a look at kellymom?

If your dd is weaning then it is a great credit to you that she is giving up when she is ready.

Thanks Tatties - she seems to have changed her mind we had a lovely and quite long feed this morning. I think perhaps this is the beginning of the onset of weaning but I hear it can be quite a slow process.

That's good Yes I think it can be quite a slow process. But that's good, gives you chance to get used to the idea.
