2 day old fighting feeds?

My 2 day old son is driving me mad with feeding him. He is bottle fed and I’m really struggling to get him to take a bottle.

Was told by the midwives to feed him every 3 hours (at least 30ml of milk) but he has been 4 hours between feeds and not cried for milk. He gets more upset at being given the bottle instead of seeming hungry.

Wearing me down! :(

Could you try using a syringe? We had to use them for DD when she was a few days old. You can get them in the chemist, we used a 1ml and then went up to a 5ml. Eventually she got the hang of feeding, but needed help at the beginning.

He’s very new and getting used to the world...it will help to hold him close, skin to skin, and go at his pace. The syringe is a good idea but get a midwife to demo as it needs to be done safely. Hope tomorrow is better.
