I'm still worried that I might not be feeding my boy's giant appetite enough! It seems like he eats loads but he always starts getting fussy an hour before his next meal Shock He's about 10kg weight and 80cm height so very tall for his age.

A typical day for him might be:
6.30/7am BF, both sides
8am Breakfast- 1 and a half weetabix with full fat milk and half a banana, water to drink
10am ish snack eg a babybel or sliced fruit
12pm lunch - slice of eggy bread, followed by fruit & yoghurt
2.30pm BF, both sides
5pm Dinner eg spag Bol with noodles, or veggie chilli with rice - approx 120g of sauce plus carbs, then yoghurt or fruit, baby biscuits
6.15pm BF, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot!
10.30/11pm BF, both sides - still doing the dreamfeed, which I'd like to cut out but he always seems so hungry and guzzles for ages. I don't do any other night feeds now though.

Keen to see how others compare. Surely I can't be under feeding him! And he's been like this for weeks so I don't think it's a growth spurt Wink

When dd was that age she ate barely a quarter of that, so I’m pretty sure you’re not underfeeding!

If he’s fussing before his meal and you think it’s hunger, try cutting out the sugary things (yogurt, biscuits, fruit) and replace with more protein, he’s having lots of carbs and sugar and not a huge amount of protein or fat.

Thanks for the advice, Teddy, I'll try that Smile

Mine definitely wasn't eat that much yet at 9 months. I would say it was closer to 11 months. She was probably still having more milk feeds in between and didn't have a morning snack until 10 months. What about offering an extra milk feed if he'd take it or a larger snack for breakfast? Or adding in an afternoon snack. Even when mine was having a milk feed around 2ish, she still had either another small milk feed or a snack about 4 and then dinner about 5:30.

My 9 month old normally has:

6.30am - 180ml milk
7.30am - 1 weetabix with 100ml full fat milk and a pear
9.30am - 180ml milk
11.30am - half a babybel, bread stick, 3 cucumber sticks, 10 grapes, 3 tablespoons of Greek yoghurt with prunes
2pm - 180ml milk
3pm - sometimes she has a snack here, like raisins
4.30pm - a few Ella kitchen or organic puffs to keep her occupied while I cook; one large egg scrambled with cheddar cheese and spring onion; semolina made with 150ml of milk

Forgot to say, I've not weighed my baby in a while but she's always been 75th centile for weight and somewhere around 90th for height so she's a fairly robust bouncy baby!

Thanks all, that's really interesting. I cut out the morning feed after he refused or just had a couple of token sucks consistently for a week or two but maybe I should try again. An afternoon snack is a good shout as well. I beefed up his morning snack and that's helped him get through to lunch
