My little girl is 8 weeks and 4days old and she had started taking between 4 and and 5oz but has now dropped back down to between 3 and 4oz about every 3 hours and has also become very fussy with the last ounce or so like she acts like she wants it gives all the signs but then pushes the bottle out of her mouth, I don't understand why she has started doing this?

Following with interest, my 4 week old had been taking almost 100 ml at some meals, and now dropped to 50-60, sometimes 40 at night... And instead of sleeping 3 hours, wakes up after 1,5 or 2 hours very hungry!

My little one still goes 3 hours but I just worry she isn't getting enough but I suppose there appetite changes

My DD is 12 weeks and FF, she's on 7oz but goes through stages where she wants little and often, so 4oz every 2-3 hours, I just feed her on demand when she's hungry wether she takes 4oz or 7oz, she's putting on weight well I was worried that she wouldn't with having fussy stages but she's gone from the 25tj ce tile to just under the 50th ce tile.

Just carry on feeding as and when they want it

That was meant to be centile I hate auto correct!

Aimssmith12 · 25/01/2018 16:10

That's what I'm doing I mean she is off it today anyway because she's had her 8 week injections poor baby, yeah my little girl is following the 25th centile but I suppose like us they aren't gonna get when they are full or not hungry

Injections are the worst we've got the 2nd lot soon, your doing great so don't worry

Aimssmith12 · 25/01/2018 17:21

Aww thank you I hope I am 😊 and I know I'm not looking forward to the next ones but she said that's only one injection not 3 like this time poor little babies it's bad enough getting injections when your an adult.

Hi Op,

Big congratulations 😍

Don't worry this happens with my little girl who is also on the 25th percentile. I think she started doing this at about 8 weeks, she even now takes an hour to feed, chomps her hands flies backwards, smiles at me (like she's finding it all funny ) 😂 she's just turned 5 months and is completely distracted when I take her out and when feeds are due. She also gets frustrated tells me she's hungry and then changes her mind. I remember a few occasions my LG was having 120ml around 9 wks I think? or so as her first morning feed and then a few weeks later was back down to 80mls and was struggling to get her to finish. I think they are just like us (some days more hungry then others) or growth spurts can increase feeding also as mentioned. What I did is just make a note of her intake over a day just so I knew it was over 500ml mark to get the vitamins especially D from the formula.

Ahh yes injections mine was off her feeds with the first set but was back to normal feeding the next day and further injections didn't impact her feeds, as said, not very nice at all for our little ones 😥
