How long to pump for to protect supply if newborn has been given one formula feed?

I’ve been googling and looked on Kellymom but maybe I’m using the wrong search terms...just wondering if anyone knows how long I should pump for (using manual handheld breast pump) to protect my supply if newborn baby has had one feed of formula? Thanks Smile

A one of feed will make very little difference Smileid pump for maybe 15 minutes, depending on how easy you find it to express etc. If you feel like your breast is drained I’m pretty sure that’s a good indicator Smile

Just one feed in total? You do not need to pump. Your supply will be fine. If you mean one formula feed per day then I would pump for that missed feed.

You’ll find you can only pump what’s there (if that makes sense) but as others have said one feed will make no difference

Thanks all, that’s put my mind at rest!
