Please can anyone share how you feed your little one??
For example - 1oz then wind.
Or let baby take it all and then wind.
What position best for bottle feeding and winding works for your little one?

Looking for ideas and advice to avoid wind and sick.

Previous grunting has now turned into squirming and being a bit unsettled too. Or is this just because he is now more alert and we are doing more?

Many thanks.

I used to wind after every oz, then got to the point, if I took the bottle away from DD's mouth she would scream the place down if she didn't get it back. I not just wonder after she has the whole bottle

Hi there,
My little girl is formula fed now 4.5 months to be honest I struggled with getting wind out but ideally wind around 30\40 mils always feed upright as possible and I found after feds a little while later ( if lucky) can get another burp out. I looked at videos on utube for tips but to be honest babies at that age fall asleep all too often and that makes getting wind out even more difficult.
In my experience, my baby would only burp if she was still awake but by 9 weeks it gets easier to get out any trapped wind out and from 12 weeks and beyond it gets even easier as they can sit up easily with your help of course and then the bumps just come straight out.

She now has 180mil feeds and I burp her around 3-5 times as her tummy gets v tight otherwise.
Also try and keep your little one upright for around 10/15mins afterwards for gravity purposes and to help the feed go down.

Hope that helps and big congratulations btw Smile

Thanks both for your responses. Hoping if we break his feeds down more he will be more settled.

Its so hard to know what to do....when you're so tired but you have to wake them to burp!!

Oh well only a few months to go!!! Lol Hmm

Initially we burped every 30ml. Then as he got older we let him pace it, so if he is super hungry he might eat 100ml before stopping then stop every 40 or so naturally himself. I did notice during growth spurts he was more likely to throw up after. Though touch wood he hasn't now for weeks. And rather than burp as such we would just rub his back for a few minutes/until he relaxed as you could tell his tummy would be all tight if he needed a burp. We feed siting upright and generally burps just come naturally.

Thanks MrKayKay. Sounds similar to how we have been trying to go with our ds....however sometimes he gulps down a whole feed then throws it up. During these feeds he will cry when we try and take the bottle away. How old is you LO??

Ours did that he's now 15 weeks. We fixed it by using a dummy whilst burping.
