Has anyone else had this? Its happened 3x in the last 4 days. Normal runny yellow poo but with grains that look and feel like black sand scattered in it. They are hard/jagged pieces - literally like sand!! Otherwise DS is acting fine.

The only thing that's changed is tharmt i upped his ratinidine dose on the 19th dec for reflux???

Are you breastfeeding? If your nipples are cracked/damaged it could be digested blood maybe?

ThatsWotSheSaid · 29/12/2017 21:22

Is anyone feeding him bananas?

Jellybabie3 · 29/12/2017 22:15

Yes to bf. I did have a blister on my nipple last week but not aware of bleeding.

No to bananas!

Do you know what, I know you've been camped out in your doctor's surgery lately as I think I remember some of your other threads, but I still think I'd run this by someone. Maybe HV or a phone app with doc, erring on the side of caution. Not that I'm any authority, but just because the only thing I know can cause something similar is digested blood. And while cracked nipples is the usual - almost certain - culprit, you don't mess around with blood.

Actually am I thinking of you with the allergic baby? I think that's someone else, sorry! I think I recognise you from breastfeeding threads - my apologies. My advice to get a professional opinion still stands though Smile

@RatRolyPoly no thats not me but i appreciate your comments. I phoned 111 this morning as it happened again. They directed me to the off duty doc who sent us to hosp. Hospital doc wasnt bothered. Said it defo wasnt blood or anything to worry about although didnt know what it actually is. She said if its still there Monday then take him back for tests. Wierd! Five days we've had this now. No cracked nipples although he gave me a blister last week
