9 months in, breast pain

Hi all,
I've been breastfeeding my little girl for 9 months. In the last couple of days my left boob has started to feel sore and kind of hard on the underside. It feels engorged but isn't. Is it possible to get blocked ducts etc after so many months?

Yes, perfectly possible. I got my first case of mastitis at 8 months in when I went back to work.

Hot bath, ibuprofen and a wide toothed comb plus firm massage over the hard area, ideally under/into the hot bath water. If you do it right, you should get some cracking plugs out followed by an almighty, unstoppable gush of milk. If it wasn't so damn painful it would be fun Grin

Thanks.... Was hoping is side stepped all of that, but alas...
