I'm on 200mg daily for deep tissue breast thrush, after a loading dose of 350mg. Day 6 today. The pain in my nipples reduced dramatically after 48 hours but today it feels like the pain is getting worse again and I have two new cuts on my nipples. I have 14 days treatment. Is it normal for the pain to take ages to go away??

I'm using nystatin on baby DS (3 weeks) and clotramizole cream on my nips between feeds. What should I expect? When will the pain go? It's been so awful I'm biting down on my own thumb to stop myself from crying out in pain when he latches, this can't continue! Please help!!

It will go but might take some time. I really struggled passing it back and forwards between us for ages. In desperation I tried Grapefruit Seed Extract from Holland and Barratt after doing some Dr Googling and that seemed to work for me.
Hang in there and don’t give up on the feeding it will improve. Maybe try some paracetamol to keep the pain down?

It is hard but IT WILL GET BETTER. Hang in there. Incidentally, we didn’t get on with Nysastin at all, there’s another treatment. Keep seeing your HV/GP. Don’t suffer in silence.

I BF until around 20 months so honestly it will improve.

Flowers for you. And congratulations!
