Advice needed :

My DS 12 weeks On Friday (8 corrected) feeds all night. All he wants to do is eat from 10.30. Last night he was on the boob solidly from 12-3. I tried putting him down several times to no avail. At 3 I ended up giving him formula(which he didn’t used to be able to stomach but now can) in the hope it may settle him, and he slept for an hour and a half. I can’t continue like this- feeding him all night is just ridiculous& exhausting.

Any advice gratefully received ☺️

IM going through the same thing with my 9 weeks old atm, i tried formula to see if it would fill him up and get him off to sleep better but he refused it, now he even refuses breastmilk from a bottle. The only way i can get him to sleep is by feeding and he wakes up as soon as my nipple falls out of his mouth, hes not feeding all night they use it for comfort like a dummy too. I have tried several different dummies and bottles but he wont take any. Iv been up with him since 2 so totally feel your pain. Sorry no real advice but your not alone lol

Both of you have my sympathy. Everything is harder without sleep.

Just keep telling yourself that everything is a phase and it will pass. That was the only way I got through it. It may not feel like it right now, but I promise you it will pass.

If feeding is going on throughout the night, I would suggest it's more a comfort thing than feeding (as kbeeb says). My LO could never keep a dummy in his mouth, but a little finger (pad side up) used to calm him down. Not that will help you sleep all that much.

I'm no expert, but you could try co-sleeping. Apparently that's great as the just wake up and find the nipple in the night. I believe HV can usually provide some advice.

Sorry I've nothing more useful.
