6 month waking at night for bottle

My LO was sleeping through for a good while but has recently started waking at night for a a bottle again around 1/2/3am.
He has his last bottle at 6.30pm goes to bed at 7pm sleeps until 7am.
I just wondered what age your LO stopped waking for a feed at night and if at 6 Months it’s still common for them to have a night feed? I just can’t understand why he has been capable of doing it but now has gone back to waking for a bottle again?
He downs the whole bottle and then goes right back down to sleep straight away no fuss or moaning so I genuinely think he is hungry.

Mine still had a feed in the night at that age, it’s quite normal. There is a growth spurt at 6 months.

Yes, that's totally normal. Sounds like you've just had a particularly easy time of it so far. Mine was having 2 bottles during the night still at that point (and around 6 months when she was teething, it was literally every hour or two all night some nights). You're doing the right thing by making sure he's fed and getting him back to sleep quickly. Mine was down to just one bottle a night by 7 months and dropped them all at 9 months. She still woke at night until she was 3, but it wasn't for a feed.

My 6 month olds still takes a bottle at night, she has gone through the night a few times and I sometimes try to settle her back down without a bottle but often it’s all she wants and she will settle well after.

Thanks guys! It's good to know that I'm doing the right thing 😊 Sounds pretty normal at this age x

He's defiantly waking because he's hungry because he's taking a full bottle and going straight back down, I think you need more food during the day for sure. How many meals is he having and how many bottles? You could try and up his meals/milk and see if that helps

Totally normal and exhausting. Both my children had a bottle for longer than 6 months and both have been rubbish sleepers. Don’t worry, in 15 odd years time you’ll have the opposite problem. Good luck Hun x

My 1 year old still wants about 3-4 feeds overnight. Definitely normal Grin

Newmum26 · 24/11/2017 21:40

Wow thanks I'm not stressing about it now! Sounds totally normal! I think because he's slept through for a while and now does the odd night I am thinking why are you waking I know you can sleep without a bottle in the night?! But I guess I have to remember that he will wake if he's hungry and he has his bottle goes right back down we are all back to sleep within 15 minutes so can't moan at that bless him x

Anything from teething to growth spurts or learning new skills or becoming more mobile can all mean that they need more food (or just fancy some milk Grin). Could even be thirst! If it gets you all back to sleep that quickly I’d definitely go with it.

As per previous posters DD also started waking for a bottle at around 6mo. We re-employed the dream feed tactic.

She stopped by 8 or 9 months.
