Just got back from my MIL & she commented on how pale my DS is, 6.5 months. To cut a very long story short she has issues with my bfng him & suggested he has vitamins as my milk is obviously not got enough vits in & thats making him pale. Just started to wean him & he is loving food & eating loads but also still having lots of my milk.
I just thought he was fair skinned like me.
Does he really need vitamins?

Seven years ago with ds1 I was advised to supplement bf with vitamin drops after 6 months. In fact I even bought the drops from the hv at the gp surgery. By the time I had ds2, 5 years later, the advice had changed and I was informed that it was no longer recommended, and not necessary at all, especially if the diet you're introducing is varied. Apparently that advise remains the same now.

The main vitamin that parents in general might want to consider is Vitamin D, but largely if they are dark-skinned and/or don't get any exposure to the sun (that being the case in which we've been messing with Mother Nature so she may need a boost). As your DS is pale it seems unlikely that there's any chance that that would be a problem for him. The other possibility would be iron if he were being really picky about food, but if he's eating loads and a balanced diet then that's unlikely to be a problem either.
