Been getting a bit frustrated as everyone I seem to talk with is boasting about how well their little one sleeps through the night now. My ds is almost 17 weeks and no matter how much I tell myself the sleep isn't that bad, the truth is I'm pretty darn tired, even with him waking 1-2 times a night.

When did your little ones sleep through? And morale boosters to share? He was pushing to 6-7 hours which was great but now seems back to more frequently...

he is having a growth spurt - this 16 week one is the worst. It will settle down just get plenty of milk into him. Try a split feed before bath and bed to bulk him up - so feed, bath, feed and bed. My DS fed in the night until 21 weeks and then we had a relapse at 24 weeks when he was poorly and off his food so i would say from 26 weeks he was going through - it will happen!

Oh, you poor thing!
Sounds like the famous 4mo growth spurt - repeat with us 'this too shall pass...'

Can you nap during the day? Appreciate may not be possible with older children but fgs don't do housework or cooking or anything not absolutely essential.

and lie to the other mums if it makes you feel better

Hah, I have a 7.5 month old and she had me up 4 times last night (more than usual due to teething) so she obviously completely doesn't understand the concept of sleeping through (and never has). A lot of people I know have babies who do sleep through but I just shrug and think every child is different - mine is brilliant at actually being put to bed and going to sleep whereas some of them have a real struggle on their hands every evening. So, morale-booster? I'm sure that your child has some habits that other mums would envy. Unfortunately I find a lot of other mums lovely though they are concentrate on how brilliant their child is in some way without actually giving a balanced picture.

Oh and try to have a lie in when you can. And don't feel guilty about it.

Appreciate it ladies- had to laugh as right after I posted this a friend texted saying 'guessing what my little guy did last night...'- ahhh! this too shall pass, and some day we will all have some sleep.

Well my dd (9mo) was awake most of the time from 10.00pm to 2.30am, and then again at 6.00am. This is pretty common, and am completely knackered nearly every day So it's not just you..

When ds was a baby, he would be out cold from 7.00 to 7.00 every night, and I did have a baby that slept through the night then. Feel dd must be karma or some sort of retribution for ds being such a good kipper.
