Hi everyone my baby is 4 days old. Just a little concerned about his feeding habits at the moment. I’m bottle feeding him. First he was going around 3-4 hours with 2oz but the last 2 days he’s been having 3oz and sometimes wants more as soon as an hour and half after the last one!! This can happen anytime of the day or even during the night. I don’t want to over load his tummy but he does seem rather hungry. Can anyone relate to this? Does it eventually steady out a bit more? My daughter is 5 and she was never like this. I’ll be grateful for any feedback. Thankyou

It's normal. Just feed him when he wants. When he's full he'll not take any more. He will be growing all the time. Congratulations.

With my baby it changes frequently how much he eats. 12 weeks now. Up and down. Growth spurts, cluster feeding...It may change back to 2 Oz. I think it also depends how much you offer him. I would never offer him large volumes as he has reflux so he would feed more frequently if he kept being hungry.

Thankyou both. He had a pretty good day yesterday and managed to last 3oz every 3hours then slept at night for 6 hours before having another!! Midwife said to try pushing it to 3 hours through the day because he’s too small to be taking that much (which I do think she’s right) but then I think surely if he didn’t want or need it then he wouldn’t take it and would throw up instead!
