Hi, my little boy has been feeding all day in a pattern on twenty minute feeds every two hours. Then all of a sudden from 10pm, he cannot settle at all in his moses basket and wants the breast (rooting, sucking hands, then crying). When I attach him, he takes several big gulps and I can hear him swallow before he falls asleep quite content.
I put him in the moses basket as he's asleep but the cycle stsrrs all over again. Help, please!!

None of mine entertained sleeping in a moses basket at night. I fed lying down in bed ( make sure you do this safely) so I got enough sleep.

Keep going. It's exhausting but so worth it. I'm still BF my DS at 10 months. Make sure you have lots of snacks and water to hand for the night time. Try not to express until 4-6 weeks as your supply settles. If your boobs become uncomfortable try a hot or cold compress to relieve them. I used to hand express a little off in the shower - they were like a fire hydrant!

If you are finding the night time hard, have your midwife or HV show you how to feed safely lying down. This was what did it for me and saved our BF journey.

I forgot to say, my 2nd child I really wanted to breastfeed (my original aim was atleast 6 months) and I knew what to expect so I powered through the sore nipples, exhausting night feeds and the near constant feeding and by 6 weekish it got so much easier as she was in a routine much the same as formula fed babies except she had the health benefits and I didn't have to get up in the night making up bottles/washing and sterilising. She is still breastfed at 14 months and it has been a lot easier for us than if we formula fed.
