One tiny poo every 7 days in BF 3.5 month old. Is this normal??

I am assuming that this is nothing to be alarmed about BUT I would like to check anyway! What tiny poo there is, smells more of 'grown up' poo than baby poo. Consistency and colour are all baby like. Plenty of wet nappies and tummy nice and soft and DD in good form generally.

My dd is now 5mo and since she was about 3mo she has only done a poo about once every 7-14 days. They have always been huge though and very loud!

She is in reusable nappies so I feel very lucky that I don't have to wash pooey ones very often!

sounds like nothing to worry about. what goes in must come out, so perhaps dd just absorbing a lot of good stuff!!

it is because her gut is maturing and is starting to digest everything in breastmilk. mother nature doesn't do leftovers.

wow, both mine, bf, did more than one poo everyday. i guess tho if that's her usual routine and evrything well... have you discussed with hv?

Count yourself lucky!!! My exclusively bf dd did this (ds had poo'd everyday at the same age) and I was a little freaked out until I realized how much I was saving in nappies!

Glad your panic over I panicked too at first but by the time my every 10 days ds came along I was way more relaxed.
Just shows why bf is so efficient though it produces less waste than any other food.

2 more small poos and last one oddly smelling very much of fish......

Having small to medium worries that DD is not satisfied post feeds for the past couple of days - she's snacking more and I only have one let down per boob and she's frantically sucking for ages after and then pulls off in disgust.

These young babies, they cause us too much worry! My LO poos every 2 days and it goes everywhere! I always put a towel over the mat to soak up any overflow (sorry if TMI)

Runninglate some babies are just snackers and some babies ever feed for longer than a few minutes at a time. After bf for a while you may only feel one let down per breast although there will be more smaller ones you just will not feel them. Just feed her as often as she wants she will be getting plenty.
How old is she?
