Red dots on areola

Breastfeeding. Does anyone know what's causing it? Can it be passed to lo? Only affecting one side.

I have these on both sides - slightly raised red dots. Are they not just normal?

Any soreness?

I am sore but I think that's the result of cracks due to tounge tie. It just seems odd it's only one side. Both nippers a bit redder than usual & quite a large number of tiny red dots all over one side. Not itchy.
