Baby now refuses formula milk

Dear all
I wonder if anyone has any suggestions. My 7- months old baby has suddenly decided these past few days to refuse formula milk. She has been fed exclusively on formula since birth and was always a healthy drinker up to now. She started on solids at four months and has been an excellenbt eater. She wanted less formula as soon as she got onto solida but we still managed to get about 3 bottles a day into her.
Now she refuses it entirely as soon as she realises it is milk. I have tried her on water and juices and she will take a little of these (but not in a bottle) but she simply won't take the formula, either in a bottle or in a cup.
I don't know what to do about it now and am quite worried that she might begin to lose calcium.

Has anyone experienced this before and do you have any suggestions what to do?

No advice really, apart from to say that my dd did the same at about 8 months. Managed to continue trying with her until 11 months - sometimes in a half nelson almost. Gave up at that point as it was upsetting us both. She didn't drink milk again until she was about 3 and now at nearly 7 loves the stuff. What I have discovered since she could talk about it to me properly is that she doesn't like it warmed up. Maybe that was the problem back then, I will never know.
What i did do was make sure that she had plenty of cheese, yoghurts etc. Also cauliflower has a lot of calcium in it. So there are alternatives.
Hope that helps, I know it can be very worrying.

Maybe teething too, my ds always went off milk when he was teething - so do keep trying every few days. Also try giving it cold and see if it helps.

Thanks for your advice
I will try the milk cold first and see if that helps. Then the yoghurts, cheese etc.
Also she may be teething, but she seems to be permanently teething these days, so if that's the reason we are looking at a lengthy rejection of milk period...

Did you try liquidising a banana and putting it in the formula and offering it very cold? The shock of the new flavour can get it down some babies apparently - my SiL did this - but then had to make a new flavour every few days to keep it up (sprout milkshake anyone?)

hope all goes well. let us know how you get on

Hi, me again. she's still determined not to take any more milk. However I get one, occasionally two bottles per day into her when she is quite tired or drowsy . I alo put some of the made-up formula milk into her food. She has begun to drink a little water from a Tommee Tippee cup so she seems to be getting her share of liquids. She's very helathy but I still want this phase to end soon though!

Also you can use formula on cereals and in sauces etc. so you might find she takes a signicant amount that way without realising.
