Duct blocking every day now — help!

The duct that empties out the bottom third of my right breast is blocking every day since I got mastitis last week. It seems to be infected just under the skin (yellow area that isn't a milk blister) and it either is so inflsmed it blocks, or I get a milk blister, or both. The nipple is cracked below that opening too.
I have had subacute mastitis for months (broken glass feeling on letdown, shooting pains in breast after feeding, duct blocking once every couple of weeks ish), leading full on mastitis last week. Currently on flucloxacillin. Seems to be making no difference to the pain, inflammation and blockages.

Is there anything I can do to help this? DS is 10mo and still feeding a lot, including many nights of cluster feeding all night (yes, at 10 months... no, he doesn't need the calories... will you tell him or shall I?)

A friend suggested stopping feeding entirely on that sidecand just continuing with the other boob. But what if I get mastitis on the other side?

I've just had the exact same thing with my 11mo!!
Went on for about 6 weeks but finally better.
I had 2 rounds of fluxloxcillin. Just keep going back to the GP
Also I have a few baths and massages it as per drs orders to get it unblocked but I'm not sure it helped really.

Keep feeding on that side (although now my boobs are lopsided )

Also just re-read. Don't take your friends advice. Do the opposite. Feed on the bad side first always and as much as you can. The suck is stronger at the start of the feed the so the baby will unblock it!

I find that increases the problem as DS sucking doesn't unblock it (it's inflamed as opposed to plugged) - I just make more milk and the blockage pain gets worse with the pressure. Managing to unblock it with lots of massage & digging round with a sewing needle (ouch) but there is blood, infection, inflammation, cracked nipple... it's a psinful mess... and the GP reckons it looks normal!

I unblocked mine with a needle too and I think that caused the inflammation!
GP didn't know what to do with mine either so kept just giving me antibiotics.
I know what you mean about feeding and it feeling worse and like it's more inflamed as more milk comes but it really did help. It got worse then better. For me anyway! It kind of clears it out. Otherwise it just sits there and could compromise your supply if you stop feeding altogether on that side.

I unblock mine with a sterilised needle 😳 but all I can suggest is feed feed feed ... regarding the pain on let down, have you been checked for thrush? Xx
