Introducing the bottle and poo explosions

I need to stop bf my 5 and half month dd before I go back to work in a few weeks. We're up to 2 bottles a day at the mo, but the poo situation is unreal! The smell I expected but she seems to spend all day pooing - I've changed her clothes twice today already

Does anybody know if this is normal or could it be that the formula I'm using doesn't suit her?

you could always carry on bf her and just express at work

I have thought about it hairymclary but i do 12 hours shifts, day and night, and it won't always be easy to get away to express. it's a bit sad but i've made the decision to switch - just want to be sure I'm not making her ill or something.

I think they do poo more on formula because less is absorbed than with breastmilk.
give her a while to settle down, you can always change formula if you think it isn't agreeing with her

Thanks. Actually, it does seem to have settled down today. Once my boobs do the same I might be able to add another bottle!
