Hey mummys.
I started combi feeding my baby at 2 weeks. He is now 3 months and now the stress of a new born baby has calmed down I am dying to get back into breastfeeding again (EDB) if I can.. I know might not be possible but at least replacing a lot of bottle feeds because he's not at the point where he prefers a bottle and rarely feeds from me unless it's at night and I'm dying to get him to feed again. I have ordered some slow teats for my mam botttles. But I want to know if this is even possible? Or once your supply goes down you can't get it back 😒 Thanks xxx

Once your supply drops you can reboot it by feeding more. However, bottle teats are a far stronger stimulus and some babies, once formula fed don't take well to breast feeding again. Perseverance is the key as when establishing feeding initially.

You can definitely increase supply. It might take a little while to get to where you want (a couple of weeks?), but lots of skin to skin and offering feeding will help. You can also use tricks like breast compression to help speed up the flow of milk if he's feeling a bit frustrated. Don't feel worried about it, just keep offering until he gets the idea. If there's a breastfeeding cafe near you, they may also have some useful advice.
