Has anyone's period stopped having restarted after birth of baby ? I gave birth in September and my periods returned in December . I had 3 normal periods and now I am late . I did a pregnancy test which was negative . I am still bf but have been weaning baby onto solids for the last 3 weeks .

give it a week and test again.

do you want to be pg?

No . Have got a 23 month old toddler as well as a 6 month old baby . I'm all babied up right now .

I'm in a similar situation. I'm still Bfeeding, had a proper period at 8 months then just now at 10 months had a very scant period, but negative ptest.

I think it's quite normal for periods to be irregular at first.

I am hoping you are right but my first 3 were 'normal ' for me .

Am afraid I can't reassure you. If you have been using contraception (proper contraception - bf does not fall into that category) then it's unlikely, of course. Could also be stress, delay due to temporary increase in bf just before or during weaning, or just a blip in your cycle.

Will sit tight and retest after a week .

berolina - do you know much about this? Do you think my situation is normal or do you think I should also retest? I had one month without pd and now scant period.

berolina · 29/03/2007 22:24

hope it's the result you want

Would say yours sounds more like 'normal' post-partal irregularity, QofT, as you'd only had one and no pattern had established itself. If it's a niggling worry, though, or you feel pg, by all means test again.
