breastfeeding DC2 with badly damaged ducts from DC1?

What's it like?

DS (DC1) has fed voraciously from 10 minutes old. The first 12 hours or so he wasn't latching properly and was just chewing the nipple, which messed up the ducts on one side. It has been excruciatingly painful to feed on that side, for the first few months, then also more recently as he's getting top incisors and clamping down on/grazing the nipple. I'm getting lots of blocked ducts and I now dread feeding on that side.

Would it be insane to try to breastfeed a hypothetical DC2 given that at 9mo I'm considering giving up as it's just too painful?
