Formula when out

Hi all, I've made the very difficult decision to switch to ff 3 weeks in.
I stupidly was so convinced I would fly through bf I didn't do any research on formula, it's easy in the house (we were gifted a perfect prep machine) but I'm struggling for when we are out and about. What is the best way!? Everything I read seems to be outdated. Am I best just putting the hot water from the perfect prep machine in the bottle and putting that in a thermal bag to keep it the same temp then add the powder in when he needs fed? Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thank you xx

prepared bottles, refrigerate then into a cool bag with an ice pack. Good for 4 hours

Or take pre prepared infant formula (you can buy in cartons or screw top bottles for decanting into a clean baby bottle)

Hello! I had the same experience, gave up after 3 weeks thinking I would fly through breastfeeding my second child as I managed to get thru a range of issues with my first. Never considered not being able to breastfeed my second and when it came to ff i felt totally unprepared and bewildered. A good friend suggested I use the 'flask method'. I bought the tommee tippee travel flask. Boil your water in kettle, let cool 10 mins and then add to flask. This stays at right temp to make up feeds as per guidelines for about 6 hours. When I'm out and about I take the flask, a bottle of cooled boiled water, and one or two empty sterile bottles, plus my powder dispenser. When baby needs a feed, I add 2 oz of boiling water from the flask, then the powder, shake, then top up the required oz of cooled boiled water to make a drinkable temp straight away. Kinda like an 'on-the-go' perfect prep machine! Admittedly there is a fair amount of stuff to take out with u if doing it this way, and I know lots of people still just make up the feeds with cooled boiled water and/or make up feeds earlier in the day and warm up or use the ready mades. My preference wld be to use ready mades but we are on comfort formula which don't come ready made, and I've always preferred to make up the feeds as I need them. Occasionally I make up feeds earlier in the day and put them in a cool bag, but the flask method works well for us.

(And this way, you don't need to rely on cafe's etc out and about to provide cold/hot water to warm up or cool down ur feed!)
