Oversupply and block feeding

I'm thinking about trying this with my 6 week old. Due to issues with latching after birth, I have one favoured side which is always full and a bit uncomfortable and the other (the one which initially had latch issues) is normal, soft, feeds fine from it. Latch on both all fine now.

Baby has issues with pulling off the breast at letdown, windy, explosive poos, feeds from one side only each feed. Have had blocked ducts and mastitis already.

So if you do block feeding, say 3 hours each side, what happens if say the baby sleeps through one block of 3 hours and doesn't feed at all in that time?

Do you give that block's breast when baby wakes, leaving the other side to go 6 hours? Isn't that a recipe for mastitis again? But then I suppose either way one breast will have to go six hours. Argh, help anyone?
