Night weaning - how do you do it? [blush]

DS is 9 months and we've had some problems with his milk intake since he has upped his solids. Sometimes he would only take 2-3 oz at a time during the day but was having 5-6oz twice a night and not wanting anything when he woke up. I'm off work for the summer at the moment so thought I would crack the night feeding. It has only taken 3 nights and we have stopped the 3am feed completely but I've still been giving the 10-11pm one. I thought this would make DS want his milk when he wakes at 7am but he still only wants 4oz!

I thought he would be hungry going 11pm-7am without milk but maybe he needs weaning off the 11pm bottle too?

How do you do this when they are crying and you just want to get back to sleep? Is it just a case of persevering through the crying for a few days? I must say he is a terrific eater where solids are concerned!

I also wasn't sure if this was the right place to post this so apologies if it's not Smile

If he's getting his milk quota during the day, could you try giving him water when he wakes? Maybe try supper, something filling like porridge or a banana?

He's having around 25-30oz so definitely getting more than the minimum, will try water.

Stupid question but when would you fit in supper? He has a bottle at 4pm, dinner at 5pm and last bottle at 7pm. Should I move the bottle to around 6.30pm and then offer something around 7pm just before bed?
