Hi ds is 4 weeks old and ebf, since 2 weeks old has been showing signs of colic. So far we tried infacol for 1 week then switched to dentinox for one week with neither working. Gp prescribed colief on tues am and i have been using it at every feed which is a major pain in the arse and there is still no improvement. The poor baby is in so much pain and screams for hours on end with nothing soothing him until he passes wind. I am at a loss on what to do now.

I'm afraid none of these over the counter type treatments have any proven effectiveness - more of a confirmation bias than an actual effect.

Can you talk me through some of his other behaviours? How is he when he latches on? How is your supply?

Colief worked after about two days for us x

His latch is fine as far as I can tell. Supply is great, milk came in after a few days and have been feeding on demand since birth. The crying and upset behaviour starts from around 4pm. He pulls his legs up to his chest, clenched his fists or scratching at his face and nothing seems to settle him except a bath but obviously I can't leave him in that all evening. He usually settles again between 8 and 9pm.
