Mam vs dr. Browns

Which bottles have you found best?

Any pros / cons between the two types?

We used dr browns with our DS, and want to be prepared by having a couple in just in case we have any issues like last time which meant bottle feeding a lot earlier than planned!

DS had colic, and dr browns were fab for him (we used Tommee tippee at first which were awful!)

Both have lots of parts and are quite cumbersome to wash, sterilise and reassemble.
The mam ones can be sterilised in the microwave though

I've used Dr Browns. I have 3 aged 4 and under so at one stage was doing about 15 bottles a day plus all the expressing gear. Just put them in the dishwasher at the highest temp - no one has ever had a sore tummy here

Mam ones come away into separate parts which wash well in the microwave. These also can be put in the microwave by themselves and they are self steriliser.

Thanks all - shall have a good think and keep and eye out for them!

We are new to bottle feeding, someone recommended dr browns but all we cld find that day in the supermarket were mam's. However, pretty pleased with them and won't change. Agree with pp's that there are lots of bits to clean and sterilise but u also have that with the dr browns! And so far I'm loving the fact that the mams can be self sterilised in the microwave! I hate having to go out with masses of feeding paraphernalia, and a few times now I've been able to take just one or two bottles out for a whole day, knowing I can wash and resterilise in the microwave where ever I happen to be (family/friends etc). It's been really handy.

Thanks @Lucinda15 - that's really helpful! Hadn't even considered is be able to clean them out and about, what a great idea!

I have the MAM bottles and find them really good, no wind problems here Smile also agree that they are really handy to sterilise in the microwave. I only usually take one bottle out and about when visiting friends etc x

We use dr browns, the first ones we bought have been great and have lasted 14 months. However the second lot we bought have leaked! They have a coloured vent and the tube is slimmer, not sure if that's why. The ones with the white vent have never leaked. If I was to get more I'd get MAM because a wet cot in the middle of the night is hell.
