Breastfeeding after prior breast reduction

Lorik325 · 07/07/2017 09:05

I had a breast reduction around 13 years ago-years before I ever thought about breastfeeding a baby. Now I'm 20 weeks pregnant and worried I won't be able to breastfeed when my little one arrives.
Does anyone have any advice or resources they'd point me to. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I haven't got any experience sorry, but have a look at this from La Leche League. It might also be helpful to talk to your local lll leader and maybe give one of the [[http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/Pages/breastfeeding-help-support.aspx Bfing Helplines a call, they should be a bit quieter in the morning Smile

Congratulations on your pg too Thanks

Sorry, I'll try that helpline link again, here Blush.

It might be helpful to put the phone numbers into your phone too for when LO arrives. Always best to seek support before niggles turn into problems Smile

No problem Smile

Have you got any Bfing Support Groups nearby? It's always useful to go before baby arrives and they may also be able to talk to you about Bfing after a reduction Smile

I'm not sure where to begin looking. I do have La Leche that I found online yesterday.

La Leche Leche is good Smile

Have a look here for other local Bfing Support Groups and make sure you ask your MW Smile
