Ds is 9 weeks old now. He settled into a nice routine of feeding every 2 1/2 to 3 hours, taking 15 mins or so to feed.

He had his jabs on Tuesday, and ever since he has become a snacker. He is feeding for 5 mins or so at a time before he refuses the breast. Then he is (unsurprisingly) hungry again about 1 - 1 1/2 hours later. This even happens at night, which I am not happy about!

Now, I was really happy with the 2 1/2 to 3 hour routine, so how can I get him to feed for longer again so he can last longer between feeds?

How about going with the flow for a few days, rabster? He's not behaving abnormally or even unusually and chances are he will get back to what he was doing before without you doing a thing about it

I would go wth the flow for a few more days but if it troubles you could could just stretch the gap between feeds so that he takes more next time iyswim. That way he will be properly hungry and the snack bar approach will cease and he will fill himslef up properly (hoepfully

Yeah go with the flow.Aren't we the same?
One day three square meals does it for us,the next it's nibble nibble nibble all day long.

Besides,his tummy is only tiny.

Normal!!! And you may be stuck with it for a bit (sorry). He is young for a routine, and this is probably his way of upping supply. Btw, longer feeds do not necessarily = going longer between feeds (as I found out with ds).

Listen to Tiktok - she is wise.
