Can anyone help me on feeding times?

My little boy was born 9 lb 3 oz so a big baby. He's now 8 weeks old and last week was 13 lb 9 oz. He is mostly on 6-7oz and as long as he has more than5 oz every feed I'm happy. I was just wondering though, do I still wake him up every 3 hours or let him tell me he's hungry? 7 oz every 3 hours just seems like a lot to me but I don't want him to loose weight. He was fed 7 oz at 8 o'clock this morning and it's now 11:15 and it's still asleep. If he does have any less than 5 oz I do wake him up in an hour or so to fill him up but any more than 5 I try to let him tell me when he wants food. Everyone tells me I should feed on demand but I was also told when he was first born to not let him go more than 3 hours, however I know first borns and 2 months old are different. Can anyone help? Thank you x

Hi, my DS is 16 weeks now and also a big lad! The midwife told us that as long as he was gaining weight well then there was no need to wake him to feed after the first week or two. However if you're worried, you could always check with your health visitor.

You can feed entirely on demand and no need to worry about oz. my 6mo doesn't have 5oz every feed, they know what they need.

Unless there are medical concerns just follow the baby.
