For background:

DS born at 36+2, 5lb 14oz.

Has woken himself for feeding every 3 hours since day 3.

Now weighs 7lb 2oz.

Question is this: the past 2 nights he won't settle in his Next to me crib after his 1am feed, so I've lay him in the bed next to me. Sleeps immediately.

But, he hasn't woken himself for his 4am feed. Is it ok for him to sleep that long? Or should I be waking him?

He does then wake himself at 7am and taken a normal feed.

I should add he's EBF, if that makes any difference.

As long as back to birth weight and maintaining weight along a line, there is no reason to worry about about longer stretches without a feed at night.

One of my children from birth, so literally Day 1, was sleeping two 6h stretches at night. By 4 weeks that was a 4h stretch and an 8h stretch and by 7 weeks a 12h stretch.

It happens. Enjoy it!

Thank you Fate.

But of course because I dared to say it out loud, he was awake loads last night!
