Constant BF in the heat?

I'm in London and it's a highly unusual 23 degrees - has been hot all week. My 11 week old has been feeding non stop - anyone else experiencing similar? Is this normal?

We had a lot of problems at the beginning but he's now EBF and his latch seems to be fine. He had a minor tongue tie but quite a few lactation consultants said it wasn't worth snipping as we were over the worst of the feeding problems and he's putting on weight like a champ.

So is it just the heat?

Heat will make them feed more, like us drinking more. Milk goes more watery to hydrate them so they will likely feed more frequently.

Keep an eye on tongue tie as sometimes the6 find it hard to up supply as they grow if your supply as they get bigger. Does baby have any problems with wind or gas?

Yes it's normal. Breastmilk is a drink as well as a food so your baby is being very clever as he is keeping himself hydrated. He's too young to give water and it's good for him to keep breastfeeding so that's great. Just make sure you keep hydrated because you'll be tired otherwise!

Yes, completely normal. Your milk will change too in the heat so he'll be getting exactly what he needs to stop getting dehydrated.
