How long does it take for your milk to dry up?

not sure about giving up and wondered how long i've got to think on it.

have bf my lo for 7 months but had a bad couple of weeks cold, coughs sickness and finding it tough thinking of giving up as have been giving fromula this week , but then I know this tiredness etc will soon pass.

a GOOD WHILE,ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE BEEN DOING IT FOR MONTHS.
i COULD GET MILK OUT FOR months afterwards.

well - I breastfed DS1 for 14 months, within about 2 weeks of stopping my milk had dried up.

DS2 hardly get fed at all (tried for 5 days but wasn't letting down) so switched to formula - and my milk was still there nealry 7 months later !
