Vomiting bug and BF

I have been struck by a horrible vomiting bug. Have eaten nothing since yesterday morning and yet I keep vomiting.

Today DH took DS out for a few hours to give me a chance to rest. I tried to express while they were out and nothing came out (I usually get at least 150 ml at lunch).

DS is 9 months. Is this going to mess with my supply? I don't seem to be able to keep anything down. He has been feeding as normal but I'm worried. I'm drinking plenty of water but that's all I can manage and even that comes back.

This happened to me when my baby was a few months old. Couldn't even keep water down so just didn't have anything to give her for a few hours. My GP prescribed anti-emetics (anti vomiting) tablets and they really helped - just in the nick of time before I felt I had to give her formula. Hope you feel better soon, I know how crap it is!

Thanks Molly. I wonder if I can get some stuff over the counter! Or I'll try the doctor tomorrow.

Could try ringing the pharmacy to ask? I also rang the doctor's about it rather than going into the surgery in case it was something really contagious. Also could barely walk down the stairs anyway! Good luck.

That's the thing, I can barely move. Thank God DH is off today and tomorrow, at least I had the decency to get ill while he's around Hmm

I got awful d&v when my youngest was two months old. I was sooooo ill. Somehow I managed to breastfeed him throughout and my milk was fine.

I did become even more unwell from dehydration though so try to keep fluids up even though it's hard to do when you're sick.
