Teething 6 month old biting nipples

My EBF 6 month old has just got his two bottom teeth and has started clamping down on my nipple (usually towards the ends of feeds), sometimes making it bleed!

We're just starting to wean (mixture of purée and finger foods). I was planning to BF until he was 1, but if this continues I'm not sure I'll be able to as it's bloody painful. He takes a bottle fine but I'm rubbish at expressing - only get 2 or 3 oz out at a time.

Has anyone else had this and is it a phase or will it just get worse?! Confused

It's just a phase as they get used to their latch changing and their mouth being different. I just get hyper vigilant when it seems they're nearly at the end of the feed.

It's horrible isn't it! Remember they can't bite when they're actually feeding so be ready to pull away once the faffing about bit starts.

My dd stopped biting after a couple of times of me yelping (not deliberately) and pulling away from her.

However, she's just started up again the last couple of days now a top tooth has come through. Hopefully it'll be short lived again as she gets used to her mouth being different.
