right teat size for dribbly bottle feeder?

My LO is 7 wks (but corrected age 2 wks as 5 wks prem) and dribbles a lot (i.e. drenches a bib and then some) when feeding. He also feeds very quickly - can easily down 5-6 oz of formula in 10-15 mins. He has a lot of wind - farts like mad and does lots of colicky type crying and leg thrashing. We are using the Avent size 2 teats (slow flow - 1mth+). The HV told me to move on to these teats from the size 1 (newborn) teats about 3 weeks ago, and keeps saying the dribbling will get better as he gets used to the teats - but it's getting worse. The GP has said to try different makes of teat and possibly a slower flow teat, as dribbling / gulping a sign of too much air being swallowed making colic worse. Any advice on types of teat to try and also on whether different makes of teat are compatible with Avent bottles and steriliser?

DD was a bit dribbly and we found tommee tippee teats suited her (with the bobbly bits on) She was mostly bf with an expressed bottle a few times a week and she seemed to find it easier to switch to these.
It is trial and error so just keep trying different ones until he is happy

my dd (now 3) was like this with all the flows of avent teats. We switched to using tommee tippee nuby teats (with nobbly bits) on the avent bottles and that solved the problem. Most wide necked teats will fit the avent bottles (but avent teats arent compatible with other bottles apparently!!) so I would buy a selection and see which ones your lo gets on best with.

my 9 wk old has gulped her bottles down too quickly from birth, then she has wind right up to the next feed and then it all starts again, iv had evry teat going and evry bottle, iv been using doctor browns bottles for a week now and she doesnt suck the teat flat, iv also gone onto cow n gate comfort milk formula its thicker than all the others so she isnt gulping it so much and its supposed to be easyer to digest. good luck.
