One breast failing to satisfy

Currently a breastfeeding, first-time mother to 6 week old. I have an old piercing hole in my right nipple which causes milk to leak out constantly from this breast. Due to this it's always a lot softer and emptier feeling than the left breast however, when expressed by hand, still produces what looks like a good quantity of milk. Problem is that when I feed my daughter from this breast she seems to feed for long periods of time without becoming satisfied and eventually I always must offer the second breast. Alternatively if I feed initially from the left breast she is always satisfied, never needing to be offered the second breast. I worry this is going to make the problem worse as the left breast is being emptied more often than the right. I do not understand why the milk from my right breast seems to be unsatisfactory when I can see that plenty is being produced. Could it be due to the constant leaking?

Breasts naturally produce varying amount of milk, there's lots that can differ between the two to make baby have a presence (let down etc). They recommend always offering both sides each feed anyway so I'd just go with what baby wants Smilethe most important thing is that baby is full and satisfied after feeds whether one sided or two. Softness/fullness isn't an accurate way of guessing how much milk you have either, once your supply settles and regulates they often rarely feel full Smile

Maybe she just prefers your left breast? However I would contact your health visitor and ask her opinion. I know my dd(now 6 months) prefers one of my breasts more than the other. For the time being I would continue pumping from your right breast aswell as feeding when you can..so your supply doesn't go down. Good luck OP Flowers

My LO prefers my left breast (it must have chocolate milk in it ☺️) and does the same but i always offer both each feed and keep alternating
