My 4 month old has been hungry since birth - he now downs a full bottle each 4 hourly feed, and often finishes off any thing his twin sister leaves! Do I start making him 2 bottles per feed, or do I go for hungry baby formula (which I'm not very keen on the sound of). He is sleeping from 7 - 7, so I don't want to do anything to interfere with this!

If he is sleeping 7-7 he must be getting enough calories during the day at the mo'. I would also be wary of 'hungry baby' formula as I heard it can make them constipated.

Could it be that he is ready for weaning? I know the WHO guidelnes are 6 months but some hungry babies can't last 'til then. I weaned ds at 5 months as he had gotten to the stage of downing 4 bottles with a look of "more please!" Started slowly with baby rice/pureed fruit etc. (Anabel Karmel has some great recipes).

Only thing with weaning is - in our case anyway - the 7-7 sleeping became 7-anything from 5am onwards but it also coincided with teething - ah the joys!
