Hello

I recently stopped breastfeeding and my dd took to formula no problem. I was just bf her morning and evening so switched to 8ozs am and pm - which she happily drank. She got a sore throat and was not well for a week but is now over it but since falling ill she has been drinking less and less and tonight and last night refused to have any milk, in the mornings she only has 4-5ozs. I dont understand this as my first dd loves milk and still does?

Is there anything I should do or just accept she is not really into milk and try to add it to as much food as possible - but would that be enough?

She is over her illness and eating food fine - just problems with making her drink.

I also thought that maybe it was her teat? I use Avent and started on 2 but noticed she was getting irritated it was too slow. When I went to buy 3 there were only variflow so i got those and she seemed happy with them. Maybe i should try get size 3. Does variflow come out faster than 3? Not sure exactly how they work.

Maybe give her a cup of milk instead of bottle?? We switched at 7 months from bottle to cup, but, fwiw, my dd had avent 2 from birth and by 5 months was on teat no 4... HTH

Could you try a bottle/cup mid-afternoon as well? My 8 month old is on 3 feeds a day (1 bf and 2 ff) and will often reject one of the three but at least I know she's had the other two.
