10 days old ds in hosp on antibiotics.Came home never settled.Always grunting &going rigid in pain.1 bowel movement a day.Always uncomfortable.Always ok in evening&went & still goes down well @night.
Chgd milk 2 Omneo comfort(c&g)diff baby!!
When fed though was still little uncomfortable.
Now 4mths,takes 5-6oz per feed 5 times a day.Started to go back to how was.Took 2 doc has now chgd to SMA soya milk.Any opinions on this??
Is he more hungry??
Health visitor said to start weaning but ds not waking in night not hungry between feeds, weighs 17 1b 1oz.Would a baby tell u he is hungry in a diff way as apose to screaming? Im confused. Should I wean?

how long have you been using sma wysoy???
my dd was prescribed it and 36 hours after her first feed was a totally different baby, content-settled-and even slept!
dd is nearly 4 and we are still on a dairy free diet
try looking up the other threads on wysoy as there have been quite a few
ps my ds is just 4 months and i have started weaning him and it seems to be pleasing him-he loved the apple yesterday was smacking his lips for more

There are many concerns about the safety of soya formula - it should only ever be used after a formal diagnosis of cow's milk intolerance/allergy....if you check the archives, not just on wysoy but on soya formula, you'll see some links to the evidence for this concern.

Hope things work out for you.

My ds now has constipation! He has had about 10 feeds of soya milk.
He did 2 poos today which were pellets. They were roock hard!
Do u think this is ok?
Is this normal when chging to this?
They werent hard when I chgd him to Omneo!
Called doc he said to keep him on soya milk & give orange juice as well.
Also called SMA they were useless she didnt seem to know wot 2 say.She just said give reg drinks of water which I do anyway.
Im really worried about this now. Is it really safe to use if not diagnosed.
U can buy it off the shelf without precription. He hasnt been diagnosed as being intollarent.

At the top of the forum is a list of options - search achived messages is one. Click on it, and it allows you to put a term in the search box - just as you would with google or other search engine on the web. You can then put the words soya formula and it shows you where this has been discussed before - hope that's clear enough!

By the way, please don't feel offended, but it's not usual to use 'textspeak' on forums on the web.....it's really hard to read, and you're not short of space so you can make the w o r d s as l o n g as you like

Dear tiktok,
Sorry about textspeak. I am new to all of this.
My ds did 5 further bowel movements yesterday. He was in agony!!! They have to be the hardest I have ever seen in my entire life.He screamed in agony, clutching onto me for dear life.I cried with him.
I called the doctors immediately. He adviced to change ds back to Omneo comfort, which I have & first soft bowel movement came through this afternoon.
Ds still uncomfortable, gettin worse but think that is due to change in milk. Will see hoe he gets in next few days.
He has been refured to a pediatrician at last!!
Iam annoyed that people keep telling me to wean him as he shows no signs of needing to be.
Why start food if he isnt even acting hungry between feeds. He may take to baby rice etc really well but obviously he still needs his nutrition from his milk doesnt he!!!

Chatee,
How much formula in ounces does your dd take per day?
How often does she feed?
