Anyone tried Nutramigen?

After a lot of trial and error, visits to doctors etc, I have been given a prescription for Nutramigen for my 7 week old.
(Symptoms were mainly significant reflux, stomach pain/griping and generally being unsettled and uncomfortable 24/7)
It's something to rule out if nothing else...
However, was wondering if anyone has tried it and how long it takes for a) symptoms to subside and b) child to get used to milk - at the (moment almost 48 hours in) he is being sick more than ever?! Hoping this is him just getting used to the new milk/taste??

Unfortunately he continued to be really sick with the milk and it made absolutely no difference so cmpa been ruled out.
Still severe reflux so has been prescribed ranitidine to try and combat that, so fingers crossed.
It's not nice seeing him constantly disturbed by vomiting and being so uncomfortable. Hopefully this will help.

We had nutramigen at first but it still contained a dairy protein that disagreed with dd so ended up with neonate which was much better.

Totally agree with Teabagtits. Reacting to Nutramigem doesn't rule out CMPA. Could you get a prescription for Neocate? Have a read of this on Allergy UK about CMPA and see what you think

Did he vomit a lot on his previous milk?

Agree you need to ask for Neocate, nurtramigen made no difference. Alternatively you could consider relactating. I bf mine but couldn't eat any milk or soya products myself while feeding. I found the symptoms subsided after about 4 days. If I ate anything by accident then symptoms returned within about 12-24hrs.

He is already being a lot less sick which is promising but I will certainly see how the next few days go and look into your advice.

Unfortunately, most GPs receive no training whatsoever on infant feeding, let alone when things go wrong.

Oh and when you do go back to the GP, I'd insist on seeing a Paed. Film DS when he's crying and show it to the GP. Also, make sure your GP writes in your red book every time you visit. It's a useful record for the Paed.
