DD2 is 11 months and a bit addicted to BF. Some days I feel so tired and fed up with it all, recently we've had teeth issues and up all night issues but this afternoon DD1 was asleep and DD2 too, when she woke up after an hours sleep and I went upstairs climbed into bed with her (she sleeps in our bed) and popped a boob into her mouth. She was all pink and warm like a little baby piglet and I fell asleep feeding her and it was perfection. (until DD1 woke up and came in with pooey nappy!). Do you ever get one of those perfect breastfeeding moments? It felt like my milk was flowing from my heart to hers and I've never felt closer to her.

Love this thread - this really is the thread that kept me going in those very early days.

Already posted about DD but forgot that DS came first. Was in labour with DS for 43 hours and then had emergency CS. Was in recovery and the nurse asked me if I wanted to try to feed him because the sooner they are put to the breast after birth the more successful BF is likely to be. I was so tired and could hardly move. She put him in position and he went for it straight away. It was the best feeling in the world. He looked up at me and I forgot everything but the fact that I could feed my child. All the pain and being so scared during the labour because he wouldnt come out. I think that moment and the feel of him feeding from me was the happiest and most content I ever felt in my life.

This has made me cry ....

Those special moments when they are so satisfied they just flop and you spend hours just gazing at their perfect faces, stroking their chubby hands and thinking... I made this.. I nurtured this....

Those times when mid-feed they pull away dragging half a metre of nipple with them in their gummy mouths and look up at you with their bright shiny eyes ...and give you a smile ... priceless.
