microwaving bottles

hi
we have been microwaving the bottles of formula for ds since it got colder.
we always give the bottle a good shake before and after, if it's been made up a while, to re-mix it and to avoid hot spots.
however i have been told that the microwaves remove all the goodness from the milk? can this be true? we only put them in for 20 seconds.

Not sure about the effect of the microwave on formula, but I have read that microwaving expressed breast milk can destroy the antibodies. Perhaps that's what whoever told you this was thinking about?

if you make each feed as you need it , or sterilise the bottles in advance, leave the water in to cool, and then add the powder, no need to microwave at all!

microwaving for 20 seconds is unlikely to cause hot spots and very unlikely to destroy all the nutrients....i would not worry too much at all !

I wouldn't worry though I'd rather use a bottle warmer to be honest.
