Another quick question about expressing

I've just started expressing and feeding DD from a bottle while my poor nips heal up and wonder when I should be expressing. I was bfing her every 3 hours from alternating boobs, then I was feeding her entirely off one side and expressing the other, now I want to express both, so do I do one at a time every 3 hours, both every 3 hours, or what?

It depends how much milk you want and how good you are at expressing. I needed to express both to get the same amount he was satisfied with one boob iyswim

I would do both every three hours. Be careful though as I managed to make my sore nipple worse by overdoing the expressing - the bf counsellor suggested no more than 5 minutes at a time, so for example 5 mins left, 5 mins right etc and in total for about as long as a normal feed would last.
