i am so, so sorry muminfife but am pmsl at 'doesn't have a leg to stand on'.

but really, haribo, are you mad? why on earth would you get angry about something like that? [baffled]

VeniVidiVickiQV · 28/02/2007 00:51

I'm not a member on that site, but whoever is, please can you ask those who suggested feeding in the toilet whether they'd like to have their lunch in the toilet too?

Thank you.

Aitch

Haribo - as a mum I would gladly give up my space to any disabled driver. As the mother of a blue badge holder, I would gladly park in the p&T spaces - but then I also have little children. Actually - I have just checked and our blue badge has run out, but I will still give up my p&t space for anyone who has a current one

Oh Bummer, promised myself I wouldn't post on this subject again.

All of you go to bed - it's late

Haribosmum · 28/02/2007 14:50

OK so I think I've come across wromg here! And I know this isn't the thread to post this on but in my defence...

The lady with the disable badge got out of the car and WALKED to the shops. I know from experience that lots of people get blue badges that do not really need them. I saw people with babies have to park on the other side of the carpark and regotiate their way across lanes of traffic with prams and sometimes young children because they didn't get a parent and child space.

Anyway everyone is entitled to their own opinion on any subject. Maybe the people who have been so quick to judge me should realise that.

Haribosmum · 28/02/2007 14:52

Oh and if there was a disbled person that genually needed my p and c space then yes, I would give it up. Just not for someone who could just as easily manage to walk unaided whereever they were going as I am.

Haribo, you are still a nob.

I had a blue badge (well, it was orange) because I had post-viral arthritis. Crippled by it some days, only needed an arm others, could walk unaided albeit slowly others - couldn't manage crutches because I couldn't bear weight on my arms and hands, because, you've guessed it, they had arthritis.

I used to get GLARES when I got out of the car too - I couldn't drive, so was a passenger, but still.

PrisonerCellBlockAitch · 28/02/2007 15:53

haribo, really... it's not for you to judge the level of someone's disbility. how awful for that poor person to have to deal with your attitude.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 28/02/2007 16:12

My MIL has a blue badge for her chronic asthma. Not something you can see very clearly.

I think you need to open your mind, expand your knowledge, and take a step back and listen to what you are saying.

Then preferably go away, and not come back until you recognise how offensive you are being.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 28/02/2007 16:13

FIL also has a blue badge, mind you, his legs are really bandy and he walks like he's just got off a horse so you can see how much he needs a badge

PrisonerCellBlockAitch · 28/02/2007 16:15

they sound like a right pair of malingerers to me, vvvqv...

PrisonerCellBlockAitch · 28/02/2007 16:15
Wink
VeniVidiVickiQV · 28/02/2007 16:40

Well.....since you mention it......

They dont actually bother to claim enough of what they are entitled to. They are so norty.

PrisonerCellBlockAitch · 28/02/2007 16:46

tsk, they'll have to buck up their ideas if they want to be issued with their official 'terrible drain on the economy' badges.

Haribosmum · 28/02/2007 17:22

Socci- well where I live they are very easy to get (not to mention the fake ones going around). Not everyone who displays one needs easier access to the shops (or wherever the car park is). It's these people that annoy me when they park in mother and toddler spaces, not the genuine disabled people who would otherwise find it dificult to get out of the house. Reading back my original post I can see why people have got the wrong end of the stick and I apologise.

Muminfife - Sorry I missed the previous thread about this subject but I do not have very much time on the internet each day with a 10 week old baby and 2 yr old and house being renevated. So like the occasional washing load, things may be missed.

Anyway i never meant to offend anyone (or start a massive debate about the whole issue), just my opionin that's all and last time i looked i was entitled to it without being called a nob (hunkerdave - obviously you don't beleive in free speech. Either that or you do not have a viable argument and can only just about manage to hurl insults at people)

My dads got a blue badge so i'm quite aware if the disabilities some people can have and the reasons for having a disabled badge.

Anyway I'm sure we can move back to the topic this thread is really about now!

If they dont need easier access to the shops, what exactly do you think the blue badge is for? [puzzled]

Haribosmum · 28/02/2007 17:40

Because VenividivickiQV not everyone is as honest as you and I. I believe there is quite a little trade of blue badges going on in the black market.

I'll say again that i never meant to cause anyone any offence and apologise if i did.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 28/02/2007 17:52

But seriously, what do you think the blue badges are for?

Haribosmum · 28/02/2007 17:57

As i have said at least twice now my Dad has a blue badge so i know quite darn well what they are used for! Why are you insisting in dragging this out? I've said my apologys so why can't we get back the the real subject of this thread?

airy · 28/02/2007 18:15

Ooohh are you still insisting you were right??
blue badges are not easy to get, trust me. You have to need the bloody thing to get one, and if you need it then you need to be able to park close to a shop or wherever it is the spaces are.
As has alrady been said, unless you are a doctor and stopped to examine this woman you can't possibly judge how disabled or non disabled she was. Not all disabled people are in wheelchairs you know
