Not feeding in night? 4months

Looking for some advice - my 4 month old wakes a couple of times in night, not crying just stirs, so I put white noise on and he falls asleep again.

In the morning when he properly wakes he is very cheerful and smiley (i.e. Doesn't seem like he's starved!)

He is climbing percentiles and feeds every 2/3 hours during the day. He is mix fed.

A friend was shocked I was not feeding him in night when he wakes. Should I be??

How long does he sleep for at night? If he's happy I wouldn't change anything!

He sleeps from 7 until 10 when he has last feed then sleeps 11 until 6ish but can wake at 1 & 3 during this time, but he's just stirring not fully awake or crying

Seven hours without feeding at 4 months is fine. Enjoy your sleep!

Can I ask what your mix routine is please?

He has a bottle at lunchtime and then 2 bottles before bedtime, the rest of the time he is breastfed.

Don't change a thing! You're setting up good sleeping habits. Lots of parents (myself included) run into trouble further down the line when their DC have milk as a sleep association.

My DS is the same, he sleeps from about 6-8pm and then 10.30 until about 5.30, he's bright eyes and bushy tailed when he wakes up and ready to play Smile

Does anyone know much about cow n gate for hungrier babies? My three week old is one first infant milk but she's never full, usually going every three hours but sometimes only 2 and iv put it up to five ounces instead of four which she normally has, my little boy had " for hungrier babies" I just wondered if it does actually make a difference does anyone know?

OP, this sounds like my wee one (4mo). Last night he slept 11 - 6:30 with no feed and he's been doing that for a while. He occasionally wants an early feed if he's having a growth spurt but that's not the norm. It's a good thing!

Stel123, your baby doesn't really sound like a 'hungrier' baby - that feeding pattern sounds completely normal and exactly like my baby's at that age. I'd stay away from the hungry baby stuff. Your baby clearly needs lots of calories at the moment, and the hungry baby formula doesn't provide any extra nutrition - it's just heavier in their stomach to give the illusion of fullness. I used it twice in those little bottles (the usual ones weren't available) and they left my baby a bit stuffed up too so I didn't go near them again. Congratulations btw x
