Green poo and terrible sleep 4 month old bf baby

My ds has had green poos for about a week and it has coincided with him sleeping really badly at night , really frequent waking and staying awake for several hours in the middle of the night.

He has just had his jabs and the nurse mentioned that this may all be because he isn't getting the hind milk and I may not be drinking enough fluids myself. I've has a quick look on LLL and kellymom and can't see any evidence for this.

Does anyone have any experience of this or know what I can do about the green poo in case it is connected to his bad sleep?

They have a sleep regression at 4 months so the bad sleep is probably that.

With regards to the poo as far as I understand it can be if they are a bit poorly so could be the jabs. Dd has green poo if she has a cold.

I'm not sure about the foremilk/hind milk thing. We were told that too much foremilk could cause green poo but that was by nct with my ds nearly 3 years ago. I think the theory is outdated now but someone with more knowledge may know better.

Thanks chipmunk yes thought it was sleep regression time! Hmm ok so possibly just illness, he has been quite snotty recently so I guess that makes sense.

The fore / hind milk thing has been disproved. Your milk changes throughout the whole feed. Poo can change colour due to illness so the cold could be to blame as the mucus will be running down the back of his throat and into his stomach.

Ensuring you are hydrated is very important when breastfeeding though it has a nominal effect on the milk unless you become badly dehydrated. Basically, as in pregnancy, your body prioritises the baby's needs over yours.
