Travelling with expressed milk?

How well does expressed milk travel? Can I refrigerate it at home and then travel 3+ hours and refrigerate it again? Or freeze and then stick it in the fridge when I get there?

Not that we'll unfortunately. It last 4-6 hours at room temperature or 24 hours in a fridge. I think if you take it out of the fridge for 3 hours you can put it back in but use it quickly.
When travelling by plane I've frozen a feed and used it as an ice pack in an insulated bag for the feeds from the fridge it defrosts quickly though so it doesn't buy you that much time (or keep the other feeds that cool).

I find expressing enough for a feed really hard. I've got a funeral to go to and I'm staying with my dad the night before and then he's looking after dd. Was hoping I could express a few days before and then pop it in my dad's fridge when I got there.

That guide says that in a cool bag with ice packs it is ok for 24 hours. Then once in the fridge it's ok for 3-8 days.

OMG I misread that once ages ago and have been blindly following the wrong guidance. Luckily demented pixie can read properly Blush good news for you OP!
