Can't see inside DD's mouth (9m) but I have sharp pains in one breast & white bits on nipple. Have made doc's apt.

I had sore, cracked nipples, very painful to bf, a bit of white but not much. dd had quite a lot of white inside her mouth. Dd took some antibiotic drops and it cleared up and never came back.

Thanks Cavy (don't know how you find all these websites!) but according to that quiz I don't have it.

If you have thrush, it itches like nothing else and it really hurts when you feed. dd would have raised white spots in her mouth. I had it with dd1 and its not pleasant. Make sure if you do have it that you both get treated at the same time.

xoz- What itches? Boob? No have no itching. Can't see inside DD's mouth & not noticed anything whilst feeding.

Your nipple... I think it must be something else that you have (unless its quite early) My dd had it first, white spots on her tongue, I took her to the doctor and she got some medicine for it (a liquid antiviral) but he didn't tell me to do anything, I didn't have any synptoms at that stage, so then It developed in my both nipples and so dd got it bak again in her mouth and had to havwe another round of the medicine. Treatment for you would simply be rubbing Canesten (or equivalent) on your nipples.
